Modern custom concrete fireplace

The La Cour house takes a minimalist approach to modern design. Simple, clean lines are prevalent throughout while taking into account an angled lot and rotating the master wing from the main house. A cantilevered second floor highlights the entry space and pushes towards the front of the site where an expansive oak tree resides.

A neutral material palette complements the minimal design both on the interior and exterior. Two white volumes are broken up with 64 windows to provide translucency through the front yard oak tree to the back yard pool. Several voids are removed from these two primary geometries to create outdoor living spaces which are marked with natural wood siding and soffits in order to contrast the white facade.

The interior design of this home takes a similar approach, appropriating the minimal aesthetic with a mostly white interior, accented with a concrete panel fireplace/atrium, wood floors, and wood tone cabinetry. The entry aims to create an experience for guests where an Italian Stone Pine tree centered in an enclosed courtyard greets anyone entering the home through the front door.
