Green home building is important for the enduring value of homes today. We use green building methods and materials to create custom homes with the highest levels of sustainability and efficiency.
Bauhaus Custom Homes is one of the few home builders in Dallas-Ft. Worth who can truly build a green home. Designing and building a high-performance home can be a challenge. Our use of cutting edge green building techniques, highest quality materials, and water efficient design to create luxury residences sets a standard in the Dallas construction industry and has raised the bar for sustainable new home construction. Our homes are recognized throughout North Texas for their sustainability. Homeowners save on long-term operational costs with energy efficient designs and we never stop learning the latest advances in construction technology.
We have designed and built Green Built Texas, ENERGY STAR, and LEED certified homes. Several of the Bauhaus team members are Certified Green Professionals™. We are equipped to achieve the highest green building standards with our construction methods and material resources.
Our Green Building Program
Under the National Association of Home Builders, The Certified Green Professional™ (CGP) designation recognizes builders, remodelers, and other industry professionals who include green building principles into their homes, without driving up the cost of construction. Classwork leading to the designation provides a solid background in green building methods. It also gives participants the tools they need to reach consumers, from the organization leading the charge in support of market-driven green building solutions to professionals in the residential construction industry.

Green Built Texas is a voluntary partnership of local home builders, industry supporters, and sponsors committed to creating awareness and interest in the construction of higher-performance, lower-impact homes in Texas. The program has a construction protocol that Home Builder Association (HBA) members have deemed essential in order for a home to be recognized by the program. Homes built to this protocol conform to higher standards of:
Indoor air quality
LEED for Homes promotes the design and construction of high-performance homes: energy efficient, resource efficient, and healthy for occupants. A home that achieves LEED certification has been designed to maximize fresh air indoors, minimizing exposure to airborne toxins and pollutants. It also has the potential to use 20 to 30 percent less energy—and some up to 60 percent less—than a home built to code. Less energy use also means lower utility bills every month!
